GOOD NEWS FOR FLORIDA
According to some articles in Florida Trend Magazine, Florida is going through a growth spurt and has added close to a million jobs in the last five years. Construction, health care, and professional services are leading the way showing more than 12% growth since 2014.
Construction jobs alone have added 40,000 jobs in South Florida and is the top job market in Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, and Ocala.
Orlando is leading the State in economic growth. Without counting Tourism they have added 200,000 jobs in the past four years. They expect home health services to be the leading sector in the next decade with 64% job growth by 2030.
The jobs in the Tampa-St Petersburg area are more oriented to health care and life science jobs, with more than 3000 companies that employ over 90,000 people. They also are strong on professional and business services along with tourism.
The Melbourne-Titusville area is expecting new job opportunities coming from the growth at the space center. Companies like Space X and Blue Origin and Lockheed Martin plan to hire additional employees and expand their operations.
Over all, the major cities are expecting solid growth of 4-5% per year for the next four years. An analyst is not expecting a recession in the near future, even though, the current economic expansion began in 2009 and is entering its second decade. This trend is not expected to end soon.
